Northend United 2 Portadown Youth 2   Saturday 30th November 2024

This week the squad got a Saturday morning game v Portadown in Lisburn. The team started off brightly with the midfield of Finn, Alfie, Dylan and Joseph battling hard and creating chances for Odhran and Adrian upfront. The back four of Philip, Eoghan, Shane and Charlie were being well marshalled by Corey in nets, allowing them to play from the back and snuffing out any chances. The team took the lead after a free kick from Finn nestled into the top corner of the net. The second soon followed after good work from Adrian allowed Finn to finish from close range. Half time 2 -0

The second half saw the introduction of Aris and Cillian. From the start of the half there was pressure from Portadown but the team battled hard to keep them at bay. Odhran fired an indirect free in the box onto the post that would have finished the game but with five minutes left Portadown were awarded a free kick that managed to creep into the corner of the net. Unfortunately, with the last kick of the game Portadown equalised with a scramble from a corner Full time 2-2
